Data Platform Engineer

What you will do:

• Design, build, and enhance a sustainable and scalable data platform.
• Collaborate with data engineers across the organization to understand and address their needs.
• Provide modern tools, standards, and best practices to enable data engineers.
• Align platform architecture with data architects, platform engineers, and security officers to ensure stability and security.
• Support advanced use cases, such as managing large IoT data streams.
• Act as a role model, simplifying access to data, introducing best practices, and driving Axpo´s data-driven transformation.
• Scout innovative technologies and trends in data engineering.
• Share your expertise and contribute to Axpo´s vibrant data community.

At least 3 years of experience in modern data engineering.

• Strong programming skills in Python, SQL, or similar languages.
• Experience managing cloud environments like Azure and their data services (e.g., Databricks, Data Factory) using Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform.
• Knowledge of identity and access management, as well as networking (e.g., Azure VNet).
• Expertise in data architecture patterns such as ETL, medallion architecture, and data mesh.
• Motivated to build and improve platforms that enable other teams.
• Fluent in German or English.
• Team-oriented with a proactive mindset, a maker mentality, and a good sense of humor.
