Job description
You'll be working within a small team of two, reporting directly to the Head of Software, contributing to the development and maintenance of a growing suite of PC and embedded applications used globally to calibrate and maintain precision measurement equipment. This is a hands-on role with genuine ownership. You'll be expected to work with a degree of autonomy, bring ideas to the table, and collaborate closely with colleagues across engineering disciplines in an open-plan environment., * Developing and maintaining C++ applications across PC and embedded platforms
- Building new software modules and contributing to the full development lifecycle
- Writing and managing automated tests
- Managing source control systems
- Working on projects that ship to global customers worldwide
Requirements
Essential:
- Strong C++ skills (C++17 and object-oriented design)
- A degree in Mathematics, Physics or a related technical discipline
- 1-2 years of post-university software development experience (or a strong graduate with demonstrable C++ knowledge)
- Good communication skills and the ability to thrive in a small, multi-disciplinary team
Beneficial (not essential - training available):
- Experience with MFC or Qt frameworks
- Familiarity with OpenCV or image processing
- Knowledge of Boost or STL
