This is an excellent opportunity to join a team responsible for the core systems that store and manage Life and Financial Services policies. These platforms are business-critical, highly regulated and central to ongoing strategic change, including delivery aligned to pensions dashboard and wider regulatory initiatives.
The role offers a genuine mix of change and steady-state development, with approximately a 50/50 split between project delivery and BAU enhancement.
Operating proactively to meet Service Level Agreements, you will use your technical, problem-solving and communication skills to design, develop and test enhancements to Oracle-based systems supporting Accident Insurance and Financial Services products. You will collaborate closely with IT colleagues, service partners and business stakeholders to deliver robust, scalable solutions.
Working within SSDLC and ITIL frameworks, you'll ensure code meets all required standards and foster best practice and continuous improvement. You will advise stakeholders on IT initiatives, aligning development with Group IT strategy, and collaborate with Business Analysts and Solution Designers to clarify system requirements for effective delivery. Additionally, you'll review technical designs and recommend improvements to ensure robust, fit-for-purpose solutions.
You may be required to support a small number of release weekends throughout the year. The role involves engagement with both internal stakeholders and external suppliers, therefore strong communication skills are essential. You will also be responsible for meeting personal performance objectives and KPIs.
