Job description

The Community Feedback team in Berlin, Germany leads Amazon's product reviews and Q&A experience worldwide. We are responsible for how customers submit, view, and are solicited for product reviews and Q&A across Amazon., We're looking for a Software Development Engineer to join our experienced Berlin-based team and help deliver the next generation of our products and services from the ground up. You'll design and implement cloud-based services, workflow architecture, and Machine Learning systems - powering experiences used by millions of customers every day.

We're looking for a team-oriented engineer with experience building sophisticated, customer-facing applications. You'll need a strong sense of ownership, bias for action, agility, and creativity, along with a commitment to operational excellence for the systems your team owns.

If you enjoy solving complex problems at scale, we'd love to hear from you., As a Software Development Engineer on the Community Feedback team, you will contribute to all aspects of an agile software development lifecycle, including design, architecture, development, documentation, testing, and operations. You will own solutions end-to-end, from technical design through production, across cloud-based services, workflow architecture, and Machine Learning. You will design and build features that power the product reviews and Q&A experience for millions of Amazon customers worldwide, writing high-quality, testable code while maintaining engineering standards through code reviews. You will operate and monitor the systems you build with a focus on availability, performance, and operational excellence, and identify opportunities to simplify, automate, or improve existing systems.

About the team The Community Feedback team is the global owner of Amazon's customer reviews, Q&A, and content moderation experiences. Our systems serve every Amazon marketplace in the world. When a customer writes a review, asks a question about a product, or reads community feedback before making a purchase decision - that's us.

We build rewarding and engaging experiences for contributors to share their feedback, and provide shoppers with trusted insights to inform their shopping decisions. Grundqualifikationen

Requirements

Experience (non-internship) in professional software development

  • Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems

  • Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field Bevorzugte Qualifikationen

  • Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence
