Job description

  • Development of data processing pipelines for spectroscopic and imaging techniques.

  • Implementation of machine learning and deep learning algorithms for predictive modelling of material properties and device performance.

  • Development of experimental optimization strategies supported by AI methodologies.

  • Design and implementation of self-explainable (interpretable) AI models applied to materials research.

  • Integration of AI tools into experimental workflows for advanced material monitoring.

  • Participation in the preparation of technical deliverables and scientific publications associated with SOLARSENS and PROSAFE projects.

  • Active collaboration with researchers within the SEMS department and project partners.

Requirements

  • PhD in Materials Science, Physics, Engineering, Data Science or related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in the application of Artificial Intelligence algorithms to materials research.
  • Strong programming skills in Python.
  • Proven experience in data processing and analysis of spectroscopic and/or imaging data.
  • Experience in machine learning methodologies for predictive modelling and experimental optimization.
  • Experience in developing interpretable or self-explainable AI models.
  • Scientific publication in high impact peer-reviewed journals., * Experience with deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn).
  • Knowledge of computer vision libraries (e.g., OpenCV).
  • Experience with laboratory automation tools and environments such as LabVIEW.
  • Experience working in collaborative national or regional research projects

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently within a multidisciplinary research environment.
  • High level of scientific rigor and attention to reproducibility.
  • Good written and oral communication skills in English.
