Job description

We're looking for a Cloud Manager to join our team at NHS Shared Business Services (NHS SBS). This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact by maturing and optimising our secure, scalable cloud capability that underpins critical NHS services. You'll be at the heart of driving innovation, governance, and operational excellence across SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS platforms.

You'll work closely with IT and business leaders to refine our cloud roadmap, embed best practices, and ensure compliance with security and regulatory standards. If you're passionate about cloud technology and want to help deliver value for the NHS, this role is for you.

This is a hybrid role - you'll be based in our Leeds office 2-3 times per week.

What you'll be doing:

  • Work with the Head of Cloud Platforms to define and implement the cloud operating model, including standards, patterns, and lifecycle management processes.
  • Embedding governance frameworks aligned with security, finance, risk, and architecture standards.
  • Driving maturity and optimisation of cloud-native services while managing legacy dependencies.
  • Leading strategic planning and evolving the Cloud Platforms roadmap for scalability and agility.
  • Integrating security and compliance by design across all cloud services.
  • Establishing cost transparency and optimisation mechanisms using FinOps principles.

What you'll bring:

  • In-depth knowledge of Oracle Cloud and Azure.
  • Strong experience in cloud architecture and operations, with proven leadership capability and experience managing established cloud environments at scale.
  • Solid understanding of cloud security, compliance, and governance frameworks.
  • Experience implementing FinOps practices and driving cost optimisation.
  • Familiarity with hybrid environments and integration with on-premise infrastructure.

It would be great if you had:

  • Experience in business process services, BPO, or managed service provider contexts.
  • Knowledge of IT service management (e.g., ITIL) and cloud service lifecycle management.
  • Exposure to enterprise architecture or application modernisation projects.

If you're interested in this role but not sure if your skills and experience are exactly what we're looking for, please do apply, we'd love to hear from you!

Employment Type: Full-time Permanent

Location: Leeds

Security Clearance Level: DBS

Internal Recruiter: Annecia

Salary: Up to £75,000

Benefits: £5,400 car allowance, 25 days annual leave with the option to buy additional days, private medical, life assurance, pension, and generous flexible benefits fund
