Java Developer - Inside IR35 - Manchester

We are seeking a Java Developer to support a central government digital project, working on Spring Boot applications deployed in Microsoft Azure. You will maintain and enhance production-grade applications, embed secure design practices, and collaborate with DevOps, Application Support, and business stakeholders to ensure platform stability and operational excellence., * Develop, support, and maintain Java/Spring Boot applications in Azure cloud environments.

• Implement bug fixes, minor enhancements, and configuration changes to improve performance, stability, and security.
• Support incident management and operational troubleshooting, collaborating with DevOps and Application Support teams.
• Work with Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines for deployment, monitoring, and release activities.
• Assist in implementing secure coding practices, identity integration, and zero-trust principles across cloud-hosted applications.
• Maintain runbooks, documentation, and operational guidance for supported applications.
• Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable, secure technical solutions.

• Strong Java and Spring Boot development experience in production environments.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure (App Services, VMs, networking, IAM).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and operational support of live applications.
• Knowledge of cloud security and zero-trust design principles in regulated environments.
• Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
