As a Senior IT Project Manager, you'll take a leading role in delivering the digital capabilities that sit at the heart of Babcock's mission supporting defence, aerospace, and engineering operations across the UK. This is an exciting opportunity to manage high-value, strategically important IT projects that directly enhance how our teams operate, collaborate, and protect national interests.
You'll shape and deliver complex technology programmes that modernise systems, improve user experience, and connect thousands of people working in critical environments.

- Ensuring the implementation of structured project management processes to deliver business value from IT projects.
- Developing project plans, assigning tasks, and directing and monitoring daily work activities across multiple teams.
- Overseeing project quality through regular review, ensuring risks, issues, and dependencies are managed proactively.
- Tracking key milestones and making adjustments to plans or resources to meet customer and business needs.
- Maintaining comprehensive project documentation in line with Babcock's IT Project Management standards.
This role is full time, 37.5 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with days onsite and days working from home. You will be required to go to RAF Brize Norton on a regular basis.
Requirements
- Experienced IT professional, committed to delivering cost-effective and efficient project outcomes.
- Demonstrable experience in IT software application project management.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Project (Project Server experience preferred).
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously (typically four or five).
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
Qualifications for the Senior IT Project Manager
- PRINCE, APM or equivalent project management certification.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) / Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
