System Architect Pega

Our end client's IT department manages several cross-functional software solutions through dedicated service centres. One of these, the Case Management Service Centre (CSGD), is responsible for managing technical platforms and implementing and supporting service catalogues for multiple case management solutions based on Pega (Adaptive Case Management).

Since the introduction of the transversal Pega platform, several business applications have been built on it, all leveraging a shared core called ORION, which handles common functionality, integrations (ESB, DMS, IAM, …) and a transversal UI layer. The ACM team currently consists of functional analysts, an ACM architect, Pega developers, UI/UX experts, Scrum Masters, project managers, testers and a service centre lead. The teams work in an Agile way based on Scrum.

Assignment context The Senior Pega System Architect will join the ACM team at our end client, working primarily on the SOLUCE application and the transversal ORION core, while being contracted and supported by ITProposal B.V.

Scope of the mission The mission is to join the ACM team as a Senior Pega System Architect in order to:

• Maintain and enhance the SOLUCE business application.
• Enrich and evolve the transversal ORION platform based on new business needs.
• Potentially join other ACM development streams in the future (e.g. other Pega-based applications).

Key activities and deliverables

• Identify reusable transversal components and define the application architecture for the SOLUCE case management solution.
• Maintain and further develop the SOLUCE application.
• Maintain and extend the transversal ORION core platform.
• Translate business and functional specifications into Pega solutions (technical analysis), proposing multiple options with pros and cons, and identifying opportunities to enrich or refactor existing components.
• Ensure proposed solutions are aligned with Pega best practices and the technical architecture defined at the client.
• Build, configure and develop end-to-end features (including, where needed, user interfaces) as well as more granular components and behaviours (functions, connectors, transformations, jobs, extensions, etc.).
• Document the developments and configurations performed.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, refinements, …).
• Collaborate closely with functional analysts and Product Owners to understand, refine and challenge requirements.
• Perform unit testing of developed components.
• Work together with other team members and the Pega platform architect to determine the best technical solutions, phasing and ROI in response to business needs.
• Estimate the effort required for analysis, development and testing activities.
