Job description

  • Design, develop and maintain robust Back End services using Python.
  • Build scalable APIs and microservices to support digital platforms.
  • Work within agile delivery teams contributing to sprint planning, delivery and retrospectives.
  • Collaborate with architects, DevOps engineers and Front End developers to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Participate in code reviews and maintain high standards of code quality and documentation.
  • Troubleshoot, debug and optimise existing applications and services.
  • Contribute to automated testing and CI/CD delivery pipelines.

Requirements

Essential

  • Strong commercial experience developing applications using Python in production environments.
  • Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs.
  • Experience working with SQL or NoSQL databases.
  • Experience working within agile software delivery teams.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a consulting or client-facing environment.
  • Experience contributing to modern development practices including version control and automated testing.

Desirable

  • Experience delivering projects within the UK public sector.
  • Experience working on NHS or healthcare-related programmes.
  • Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms.
  • Experience working within complex enterprise or government delivery environments.
