Job description

Build scalable platform services that support education and research every day. As a DevOps Engineer Platform Engineering, you automate virtualisation, storage and container environments that are essential to the digital backbone of Delft University of Technology.

At TU Delft, we work on tomorrow's technologies: from quantum internet and robotics to groundbreaking scientific research. This requires reliable platform services that researchers, lecturers and students can depend on every day. The Shared Service Center ICT supports this digital foundation and continuously develops it further.

As a DevOps Engineer Platform Engineering, you design, manage and automate our virtualisation, container and storage platforms. You work in a multidisciplinary team responsible for a stable and scalable infrastructure for the entire campus.

Automation is at the core of your work. Infrastructure as Code is our standard. You develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automate deployment and service delivery, and manage components within the automation stack. You work with technologies such as Terraform, Ansible, GitLab, OpenShift, VMware and NetApp. In addition, you monitor deployment processes, implement performance improvements, and test how platform services can become more robust and efficient.

Together with colleagues from cloud, security and compute teams, you contribute to architectural decisions and innovation within the infrastructure domain. You are given ample room to take ownership and actively help shape the infrastructure of tomorrow.

Requirements

Are you a DevOps Engineer with a passion for infrastructure platforms? Do you want to work in a high-tech environment where research, innovation and education come together? Then we are looking for you!, * You have at least five years of experience as a DevOps Engineer working with Infrastructure as Code, for example using Terraform, Ansible, Git or NetBox.

  • You have experience with automation and scripting, for example in Python, Bash or PowerShell.
  • You have knowledge of storage and virtualisation platforms.
  • You have experience with CI/CD pipelines.
  • You have experience with containerisation and microservices.
  • You are familiar with security best practices in automation environments.
  • You work in a structured way, document carefully and take ownership of technical decisions.
  • You communicate clearly and enjoy collaborating in agile teams
