Job description
The R&D Digitalization Specialist forms part of the Global R&D Team and will partner with our product developers, scientists, lab managers and analysts to improve and sustain the efficiency of our new product development processes. Within this role you will be a key-player in sustaining and evolving materials informatics and related systems. Additionally, you are responsible for designing and implementing business analytics. This role is needed in ensuring governance, knowledge, skills transformation, to drive user adoption and make available increased information capabilities, and in creating a competitive advantage. Key Responsibilities - This is a hybrid role. - Responsible for optimization and training on materials informatics. - Define and maintain continuity in data stewardship covering all data owned by the specific function. - Define and maintain continuity in report ownership, usage and decommissioning. - Coordinate with knowledge workers to understand their information needs and identify ways to visualize and present information in a user-friendly manner. - Acts as a go-to-person for end users to interpret and use information.
Requirements
3+ years of experience as a material scientist, data analyst, or equivalent roles preferred. - Experience with R&D lab processes required, understanding of how materials properties translate into digital data points. - Competent in information ontology, information visualisation, and information modeling. - High level of knowledge on research analytics (statistics, data science, machine learning, materials informatics). - Creative mindset and willingness to gain insights beyond that of Avery Dennison.
