Solution Architect - Documentation & Governance

SC Clearance process required - British citizen or dual nationality required

Experience working within UK defence, aerospace, or critical infrastructure environments is highly desirable.

We are seeking an experienced documentation-focused Solution Architect to support delivery within a secure defence environment in Derby. This role requires a hands-on technical professional, able to operate across multiple architecture domains, while contributing to both high-level design and detailed low-level technical documentation.

The successful candidate will work within a fast-paced, friendly and collaborative delivery team, providing technical leadership across infrastructure, systems integration, and solution implementation. The role requires strong cross-domain awareness, practical engineering capability, and the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear language for business stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include supporting low-level solution design, producing architecture and technical documentation, guiding implementation teams, and ensuring alignment with security, operational, and delivery requirements typical of regulated defence environments. You will have experience with a wide variety of business systems, hosting infrastructure, and cloud services, all within the scope of design, deployment, and implementation.
