Job description

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Java Developer to work for our client within the Financial Services sector. This is initially a 6-month contract with potential extension and will be a hybrid role based in London., * Contribute to the design and development of a new platform and operational data store for Securities Finance transactions

  • Model, migrate, and validate Securities Financing transactional data into the new system
  • Develop mission-critical UI components used by traders to book and monitor transactions
  • Deliver post-trade processing functionality and tools used by middle-office teams
  • Work within an Agile development squad to deliver high-quality, secure, and resilient software
  • Collaborate with global teams to integrate the new platform with existing ecosystem components
  • Apply automated testing, DevOps practices, and tooling to support continuous delivery

Requirements

Do you have experience in Software development?, * Minimum of 3 years' experience in software development using Java and/or Scala

  • Strong programming skills in Java and/or Scala
  • Experience with SQL and relational databases
  • Understanding of Agile development practices, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps tooling
  • Familiarity with automated testing frameworks and best practices
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to work effectively within a global team
  • Exposure to functional programming concepts (desired)
  • Experience with Python (desired)
  • Knowledge of Securities Finance or Securities Lending is beneficial but not essential
