Data Visualisation Engineer

Amass Technology are looking for an experienced Data Visualisation Engineer to support a leading project on a long term, remote, freelance project., * Develop and maintain interactive web applications for visualising insurance portfolio data.

• Contribute to the development of dashboards and analytical tools using reactive programming frameworks (eg, R Shiny or equivalent technologies).

• Design and implement data visualisations that present premiums, claims, exposure, and portfolio data for global underwriting teams.

• Support the end-to-end data onboarding process, including:

• Data analysis and requirements gathering

• Data transformation and cleansing

• Integration with existing datasets in the data lake

• Financial report reconciliation

• User acceptance testing (UAT) support

Work closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.

Ensure accurate mapping and modelling of insurance data for global portfolio analysis.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data engineers, analysts, and underwriting specialists.

Maintain code quality, documentation, and best practices for application development and data processing.

• Strong experience developing web applications.
• Experience with data visualisation frameworks and dashboard development.
• Experience with reactive programming concepts.
• Experience with JavaScript and modern Front End development practices.
• Strong SQL skills, particularly with SQL Server.
• Experience with data manipulation and transformation (eg, using Dplyr or similar libraries).
• Familiarity with Echarts4r or similar data visualisation libraries.
• Ability to work with complex datasets and translate them into meaningful visual insights.
