Join the Cloud Platforms & Solutions Product Service Line within Airbus Defence & Space DIGITAL, to drive the company's digital journey using cloud-native solutions. You will ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of our managed Container service and related cloud technologies. This position is offered on either a part-time (minimum 80% per week) and an adapted scope of tasks or full-time basis., Act as the technical interface, translating and mediating requirements between customers, platform operations, and the central development team. Support customer onboarding, provide expert support, and facilitate the deployment of our managed Container service (Red Hat OpenShift and Vanilla/upstream Kuberentes) in restricted and non-restricted environments. This is a hands-on role utilizing GitOps and container best practices to ensure smooth, highly available, and reliable operation. Responsibilities include owning operational metrics, implementing monitoring/automation, managing incidents, and contributing to agile improvement., * Platform Operations & Reliability: Operate and maintain OpenShift via GitOps, ensuring compliance with change management, including coaching the operations team on GitOps. Diagnose and troubleshoot complex, full-stack issues for high availability.
- SRE Practices & Automation: Own key operational metrics to meet SLOs. Automate repetitive tasks ("toil"). Define SLIs, establish alerting, and articulate platform health to all stakeholders.
- Customer Interaction & Incident Management: Serve as the primary technical contact, proactively capturing technical requirements/feedback and offer expert support for onboarding/adoption.
- Agile Development & Process Improvement: Work in an agile team, contributing to sprints and continuous improvement. Drive definition and improvement of Ops processes (Incident, Problem, Change Management), often mediating between competing needs.
Requirements
- Education and Certifications: Bachelor's/Master's in Computer Science preferred. Relevant certifications (OpenShift, CKA).
- Professional Experience: 5+ years in a technical, customer-facing, DevOps, or SRE role, bridging engineering/end-users. 3+ years managing OpenShift/Kubernetes in production.
- Technical Skills: Expert in Git/GitOps and ability to coach operations and development teams. Familiarity with CI/CD tools. Programming or Automation experience (e.g. Python, Java, Go, Ansible, Terraform, Helm). Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills across the full stack. Basic data science/AI/ML a plus. Optional: Governance/compliance familiarity.
- Customer-Facing Skills: Ability to translate complex technical issues into clear language (non-technical for customers, high-level for development). Proven track record in technical requirements gathering/documentation. Expert support for customer onboarding/adoption. Technical writing.
- Soft Skills: Problem-solving. Communication skills (Spanish and English fluent). Excellent cross-functional communication and mediation skills to reconcile competing priorities. Team player, continuous improvement attitude, systems engineering, process industrialization.
- Bonus/Optional Skills: Storage, Networking, Open Source Development knowledge/contributions, Analytical/data-driven mindset.
