GoAnywhere SME (MFT Architect)
Location: Remote (Occasional travel to Birmingham if required) Duration: 2 Month Contract Rate: £530-£540 per day inside IR35 Engagement: PAYE via Umbrella only Expenses & Overtime: Applicable
Role Overview
We are seeking a GoAnywhere MFT Subject Matter Expert (SME)/Architect with strong hands-on experience to design, build and configure secure Managed File Transfer solutions within a highly available, on-premise Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) environment.
This role focuses on secure file transfer across segregated security domains, operating under strict connectivity and security constraints. You will be responsible for delivering end-to-end implementation, including low-level design, build, and configuration within a VMware-based infrastructure, aligned to CAF and CIS security standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement secure GoAnywhere MFT solutions in on-prem environments
- Validate High-Level Designs (HLD) and produce Low-Level Designs (LLD) and build documentation
- Deploy, configure, and harden GoAnywhere MFT, including:
- Secure protocols (SFTP, FTPS, HTTPS)
- TLS configuration and certificate management
- User access control, authentication, and auditing
- Automation workflows and scheduling
- Design and implement cross-domain file transfer patterns within restricted environments
- Integrate with core enterprise services (RBAC, certificates, logging, monitoring)
- Work with enterprise teams to configure integrations (eg SharePoint)
- Apply security best practices aligned to CAF and CIS standards (encryption, least privilege, auditability)
- Conduct testing, troubleshooting, and remediation activities
Key Skills & Experience
- Proven hands-on experience with GoAnywhere Managed File Transfer (on-premise)
- Strong understanding of secure MFT architectures in segregated or restricted environments
- Experience working within CNI or highly regulated environments
- Ability to produce and maintain HLD, LLD, and build documentation
- Experience integrating with SharePoint and enterprise platforms
- Strong knowledge of security controls, encryption, and access management
- Familiarity with VMware-based infrastructure
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across technical teams
