- We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Engineering Manager to lead, mentor, and scale our engineering teams within the Rapid7 InsightIDR product area. The ideal candidate is a technical leader who can balance team leadership, execution, and strategic planning. You'll work cross-functionally with Product, Design, and other departments to ensure delivery of high-impact, scalable solutions aligned with our company goals. This team is responsible for building the integrations with third party vendors to allow ingestion of their security event data into the Rapid7 InsightIDR product, and normalisation of that data to a standard that will allow capabilities such as reporting, detections, searching on that data. These integrations are typically Cloud based and can be via Restful API, Amazon S3 or bespoke methods, As a Senior Engineering Manager, your primary responsibility will be to Lead multiple engineering teams in the design, development, and delivery of high-quality software products. Specifically, your focus will be to:

Coach and mentor engineering managers and senior engineers, fostering a culture of ownership, innovation, and continuous learning.

Partner with product and design teams to define technical roadmaps, ensuring alignment with business objectives.

Oversee technical execution, including architecture decisions, code quality, and infrastructure scaling.

Manage team capacity, hiring plans, and performance reviews.

Drive engineering excellence by establishing best practices in development processes, testing, and deployment.

Support career development for engineers through regular feedback, growth planning, and learning opportunities.

Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, from technical teams to executives.
Requirements
- 8+ years of software engineering experience with 3+ years in an engineering management or leadership role.
- Proven experience managing multiple teams to deliver complex products in partnership with product managers
- A track record for mentoring and growing software engineers at all levels
- Experience with Agile or Scrum development methodologies.
- Excellent communication skills with experience communicating to Exec levels
- A demonstrable passion for all things software engineering, including knowledge of designing and implementing reliable architectures in cloud environments
