Job description

As Technical Service Specialist - Metal Fluids, you will support our key customers across Germany (mainly Central and Northern regions) and occasionally in France, Poland, and the Czech Republic. You will be the technical expert on-site, ensuring that our products and solutions deliver consistent, reliable performance while helping customers optimize their processes. Start date: September-October 2026 This is a hands-on, field-based role for someone who enjoys being close to industrial operations - solving problems, running measurements, and improving performance in partnership with our customers. Tasks What will you do?

  • Perform on-site testing, analysis, and process optimization of Quaker Houghton fluids and equipment.

  • Identify and document process improvements and cost-saving opportunities, working closely with customers and internal teams.

  • Support technical trials, fluid analyses, and troubleshooting in collaboration with Product Application Managers and R&D.

  • Prepare and deliver reports, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and technical training for customer teams.

  • Conduct plant surveys to establish baselines, monitor performance, and propose improvements.

  • Maintain strong relationships with customer technical and operations teams, acting as the main technical point of contact.

  • Provide emergency technical support when required.

  • Travel to customer sites approximately 75% of the time, including occasional trips to France, Poland, and the Czech Republic.

Requirements

What are we looking for? The ideal candidate has a strong technical background and thrives in a hands-on industrial environment. You'll enjoy solving complex problems, working independently, and building strong customer relationships.

  • Education: Degree in Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field.

  • Experience: Minimum 2 years in a manufacturing or industrial environment (steel, metalworking, or process fluids preferred).

  • Technical skills: Experience with measurements, mechanical systems, and equipment troubleshooting**.**

  • Languages: Native-level German and professional English required.

  • Soft skills: Safety-conscious, proactive, analytical, customer-focused, and results-driven. Comfortable working independently, managing your own schedule, and collaborating remotely with international teams.

  • Other: Proficient in Microsoft Office, valid driving license, and willingness to travel extensively.

This is a home-based role in Germany with flexible working hours - focused on results and customer satisfaction.
