About the Role:
Sitting within Technology, Intelligence, Security and Crisis Management (ISC) is the overarching function which delivers geo-political insight, emergency management support and security protection to all bp businesses. The security function works to risk assess identified security threats and manage security barriers to ensure bp's business activity can be conducted securely, wherever the opportunities arise. The Security Specialist UK & Northern Europe sits within the Technology, Intelligence, Security and Crisis Management (ISC) function which delivers geopolitical insight, crisis management capability and security risk management support across bp's global operations.
The role supports the delivery of the security risk management framework across bp businesses operating in the United Kingdom and Northern Europe. Working under the direction of the Security Lead UK & Northern Europe, the Security Specialist contributes to the identification, assessment and management of security risks affecting company personnel, assets and operations.
The position provides security expertise and operational support to ensure that security measures are implemented effectively and that risks are managed in accordance with bp security requirements., * Conduct security risk assessments and surveys relating to company personnel, assets, facilities and business activities.
- Assist in identifying and monitoring security threats that may impact bp personnel, assets or operations.
- Support the development and implementation of mitigation measures aligned to assessed security risks.
- Maintain security risk registers and supporting documentation in accordance with company risk management processes.
- Provide security input to projects and operational activities to ensure security considerations are incorporated into planning.
- Support the preparation and delivery of security briefings and threat updates for business partners.
- Assist in the implementation and review of physical, procedural and technical security measures across bp locations.
- Conduct site visits and security reviews to support assurance activities and verification of security controls.
- Support coordination with Business Security Representatives and site contacts to ensure security standards are applied consistently.
- Maintain effective working relationships with internal partners across bp businesses to support the communication and management of security risks.
- Support engagement with relevant external partners including law enforcement agencies and government organisations where required.
- Contribute to incident management and crisis response activities when required.
- Ensure that security activities align with the Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights and relevant bp Ethics and Compliance requirements.
- Support monitoring of contractors and third-party compliance with bp security standards where security systems or services are involved.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Surveillance?, * A recognized qualification in security, risk management, or relevant professional experience
- The role holder must be able to speak and write English to a native standard with an emphasis on persuasive writing., * Have experience working within a corporate, government or organizational security environment.
- Have practical experience conducting security risk assessments and supporting risk management processes.
- Demonstrate an understanding of security threats and mitigation measures within a business operating environment.
- Be able to analyze information and contribute to security risk assessments and reporting.
- Have working knowledge of physical and technical security systems including access control and surveillance systems.
- Have experience supporting the development or implementation of security procedures.
- Be comfortable engaging with site personnel and operational teams on security matters.
- Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively with internal partners.
- Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
