Job description
As a Senior AWS DevOps Engineer, your days are all about building and running the cloud platforms that sit behind some of the UK's most important digital public services. You'll spend a lot of time creating and improving automated pipelines, making sure deployments are smooth, repeatable and fast. Because everything runs in AWS, you'll be designing systems that can handle huge demand - resilient, secure and able to scale without fuss.
You'll work closely with product teams, helping them shape ideas into real solutions, choosing the right tools, spinning up environments and jumping in when something needs fixing or improving. A big part of the job is championing good engineering practices, making sure services are built with long-term reliability and maintainability in mind. You'll also help guide and support other DevOps engineers, sharing what you know and helping the team level up.
Depending on the programme you join, you might be running large platforms that support millions of citizens with pensions and benefits or working on the transformation of the Personal Independence Payment service, building new digital journeys and modern backend systems from the ground up. Either way, your work directly shapes how people across the UK access essential services every day., DevOps engineer/ consultant We are looking for a specialist in engineering and consulting for a major player in the Global Tech ecosystem.
