Job description
We're looking for a Data Solution Architect to join our data practice in Stuttgart, Frankfurt, Berlin or Munich, Germany, in a hybrid working mode. In this role, you will work directly with enterprise clients as a trusted technical advisor - shaping data strategy, designing modern data platforms and driving the implementation of data solutions from concept to production.
You will collaborate with data scientists, application architects and developers to build the data foundations that power analytics, business intelligence and AI-driven systems.
This is a hands-on role where you should be as comfortable building a proof-of-concept data product as advising on data governance and platform modernization. The position offers a clear growth path toward owning the full client relationship and delivery lifecycle end-to-end, supported by AI-native delivery processes.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development and deployment of innovative data solutions that address complex business challenges
- Translate business demands into technical requirements by working with client stakeholders to define goals, metrics, data sources, target systems and technologies
- Run discovery workshops and design sessions to translate business problems into robust data architectures and platform designs
- Design end-to-end data solutions, including data lakes, data warehouses, lakehouses and real-time streaming platforms
- Define data integration strategies and patterns for sourcing, processing and consuming data across enterprise systems (ERP, CRM, IoT)
- Architect enterprise-wide semantic layers that translate complex data into business-centric knowledge graphs and data products for analytics, GenAI and Agentic AI systems
- Establish and implement comprehensive data governance, data quality and metadata management frameworks
- Evaluate and recommend data technologies and platforms, including cloud data services, ETL/ELT tools, data modeling software and BI/analytics platforms
- Drive proof-of-concept development for new data solutions and guide clients on data security, privacy and regulatory best practices
- Advise on data strategy, including build-vs-buy decisions, cloud migration roadmaps, vendor evaluation and emerging paradigms like data mesh or data fabric
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and mentor junior data architects on modern data architecture patterns and best practices
Requirements
Do you have experience in Spark?, * 5+ years in data architecture, data engineering or senior technical consulting with direct client exposure
- Proven experience designing and delivering large-scale data platforms (data warehouses, data lakes, lakehouses) in production environments
- Proficiency in designing and delivering cloud-native data architectures using AWS, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform
- Knowledge of modern data paradigms such as data mesh or data fabric
- Strong understanding of data modeling techniques, ETL/ELT patterns and big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Kafka)
- Knowledge of data foundations for GenAI and Agentic AI such as semantic layers, graph databases or knowledge graph architectures
- Deep knowledge of data governance, data security and data privacy principles and frameworks (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27000, EU AI Act)
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both engineering teams and business leadership
