Job description
We are looking for Software Engineers - Agentic LLM Applications to join our on-site teams in Cambridge, Edinburgh, or Bristol. You will build software tools and agentic applications that leverage advanced AI hardware and large language models (LLMs) to solve complex AI problems. Role Description
As a Software Engineer, you will:
- Design, develop, and deploy distributed systems and AI agents using LLMs and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) for reasoning-based, contextual capabilities.
- Build cloud-native microservices and data pipelines for high-performance inference and contextual retrieval across multiple datasets.
- Implement orchestration, task planning, and memory management frameworks in agentic architectures, ensuring reliability and scalability.
- Collaborate with product managers, researchers, and hardware engineers to translate LLM innovations into robust, production-ready applications.
- Apply best practices in software engineering, including code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD, and security standards, and troubleshoot production issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Ability to work on-site and collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.
- 5+ years of experience developing scalable backend systems with strong understanding of distributed systems, concurrency, and microservices.
- Experience in LLM-powered applications, including prompt engineering, RAG, and agentic frameworks.
- Proficiency in Python, Java, Go, or Rust; experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and container orchestration (Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with AI/ML inference frameworks, vector databases, and data streaming systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Experience mentoring peers and contributing to technical best practices.
Nice to Have
- Previous experience in LLM-related software development or AI agentic systems.
- Knowledge of AI hardware-software co-design and optimization.
