Job description
We have a great opportunity for a talented senior-level System Emulation and Evaluation Engineer to join our emulation team. We will also consider someone with less industry experience if they have a proven track-record of hands-on work with hardware and can demonstrate an enthusiasm for electronics. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work in the development team evaluating our industry-leading mixed-signal ASICs, prototyping on an FPGA, and doing Proof-of-Concept investigations. This role is based in either our Newbury or Edinburgh office. \n Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the ASIC product development and test process
- Port ASIC RTL code onto FPGA with minimal changes ready for pre-Si testing
- Port systems onto FPGAs to test Proof of Concept architectures and IPs
- Design test benches on FPGAs for testing mixed-signal devices
- Interpret requirements into test plans to identify architectural improvements and bugs
- Demonstrate the ability to test and analyse different blocks on the FPGA. The eventual goal is to construct an automated regression test for the complete design.
- Contribute to product definition, prototype evaluation, test development & product release to ensure that the ASIC will meet the customers' requirements
- Participate in project meetings and reviews
Requirements
- Master's/Bachelor's degree (and/or equivalent) and background in Electronics Engineering
- Familiar with the capabilities of FPGA devices and associated tool flows
- Experience with hands-on bench testing and debugging of hardware, firmware and software in a system
- Experience with PCB schematic designs and layout reviews is a positive
- Experience with in-circuit emulators and bus interfaces and analysers
- Strong diagnostic and analytical skills
- An innovative, creative, lateral and logical-thinking problem solver
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to interpret results
- Able to work to tight and variable time scales
- Strong ability to relay complex information and collaborate with diverse teams using high-level communication skills
- Experience working in the semiconductor industry is a definite plus
- Experience in Python scripting helpful
- Familiarity with DACs/ADCs/DSPs would be useful, Export control restrictions based upon applicable laws and regulations would prohibit candidates who are nationals of certain embargoed countries from working in this position without Cirrus Logic first obtaining an export license. Candidates for this role must be able to access technical data without a requirement for an export license. We are unable to sponsor or obtain export licenses for this role.
