Data Scientist

As part of our Data Science & Insights team, you'll work across the entire Pets at Home Group - using data to spark debate, influence decisions and drive meaningful change for millions of customers., * Turning complex data from a wide range of sources into thought-provoking insights that guide strategic conversations at all levels

• Building evidence-based stories and presenting them in compelling, action-driving ways
• Acting as a domain expert within Advanced Analytics, spotting commercially valuable opportunities for our brands and customers
• Developing and deploying data science products that enhance understanding, improve operations and support smarter decision-making
• Leading by example: sharing expertise, championing best practices and helping upskill colleagues across Data Science and the wider business

Do you have experience in SQL?, * Proven experience applying Data Science techniques to deliver real commercial impact, ideally in a consumer-focused environment

• Strong SQL skills and experience working with large-scale data warehouses
• Hands-on experience with R and/or Python
• Solid understanding of core methods: classification, regression, forecasting, clustering, nearest neighbour, neural networks, embeddings, dimensionality reduction and anomaly detection
• Strong statistical knowledge and the ability to translate complex findings for non-technical audiences
• Experience delivering end-to-end data science projects, from scoping and data gathering through to deployment and measurable success

Desirable

• Exposure to GIS and geospatial analytics
• Experience with marketing attribution modelling
• Experience working on large-scale recommendation or personalisation engines
