Job description

peopleIX is evolving from a people analytics platform into the data and automation engine for HR teams. We enable companies to orchestrate HR processes, connect fragmented systems, and automate high-impact workflows with agentic AI. Our Vision We're building the next-generation HR platform where workflow automation is the core product, powered by our unified people data layer. Think n8n meets HR - enabling teams to create powerful automations using natural language, without IT or data engineering. What Makes Us Different Our platform doesn't just show you what's happening - it acts. We're moving from "insight" to "insight * action," enabling HR teams to build and run workflows themselves: absence triggers, onboarding orchestration, leave management, and intelligent alerts powered by AI. Join Our Journey We're a fast-growing, VC-backed startup seeking exceptional engineers to help us become the AI-first people intelligence and automation platform that legacy HR systems cannot deliver. This is not a role for everyone - we're looking for top 1% talent who thrive on ownership, speed, and impact. Ready to shape the future of HR technology? Let's build something extraordinary together. Tasks Build the Workflow Automation Engine

  • Architect and develop our core workflow automation platform
  • Create HR-specific workflow templates: time-based triggers, analytical thresholds, event-driven processes (onboarding, offboarding, leave management), and webhook integrations
  • Build our natural language workflow builder, enabling HR teams to create automations through plain text prompts

Drive Full-Stack Platform Development

  • Own complete features end-to-end, from database schema to API to polished UI - at peopleIX, full-stack means genuine ownership of the entire feature lifecycle
  • Develop our scalable integration framework connecting Slack, Teams, email, and core HR systems (Personio, DATEV, SAP)
  • Shape our People Data Platform: robust data modeling, custom fields, and data quality monitoring

Integrate AI & Agentic Capabilities

  • Extend our proprietary AI agent Tira with automation capabilities, moving from insights to autonomous actions
  • Build intelligent triggers and AI-powered recommendations that drive real workflow execution
  • Pioneer agentic experiences that redefine how HR teams interact with their data

Collaborate at High Velocity

  • Partner directly with our CTO and cross-functional teams to ship features rapidly
  • Work closely with customers to iterate based on real-world feedback
  • Take full accountability from concept through deployment and production monitoring

Shape Our Engineering Culture

  • Play a foundational role in defining our technical standards, team dynamics, and development practices
  • Influence architecture decisions and product direction as we scale further
  • Help build a world-class engineering organization from the ground up

Requirements

We're looking for exceptional engineers only. If you know you're among the best at what you do, read on. Required (3+ years of proven excellence):

  • Frontend: Expert-level React and TypeScript; you write clean, performant, maintainable code
  • Backend: Deep experience building robust APIs with Node.js
  • Database: Strong SQL skills (PostgreSQL preferred); you understand query optimization and data modeling
  • Workflow & Integration Systems: Experience building or working with automation platforms, event-driven architectures, or integration frameworks
  • Product Delivery: Demonstrated track record of shipping high-quality, user-facing features in production
  • Ownership Mindset: You operate autonomously, move fast, and take full responsibility for outcomes in high-trust environments

Strong Preference For:

  • Experience with tRPC, Prisma, or similar type-safe APIs and ORMs
  • T3 Stack experience (Next.js, Tailwind CSS, tRPC, Prisma)
  • Building AI-powered or agentic product experiences
  • Startup experience with demonstrated impact
  • B2B SaaS product development
  • Proficiency with AI-assisted development (Cursor, Copilot, or AI coding agents)

Benefits & conditions

  • Real equity, real upside - competitive compensation including meaningful stock options
