Job description

As a Lead Java/Kotlin Engineer (f/m/x) you will contribute into all aspects of software development and delivery, drive design and implementation of scalable solutions, optimize application footprint, design and negotiate API contracts with partner applications., * You will be outward facing technical lead interfacing with IT Product Owner, the technical leads of other platforms and the business stakeholders.

  • You design, develop and document backend components which fulfill complex business requirements as well as technical requirements like observability, scalability, and stability/resilience. You help to transform complex functional requirements into technical solutions.
  • You initiate and actively drive discussions with engineers, architects and other stakeholders designing sustainable solutions which fulfill both the business and the technical requirements.
  • You take a leading role in your Squad, coaching and developing junior people and supporting team members to find solutions in case of any issues.
  • You work in a cross-disciplined agile team with high autonomy, actively share knowledge and build your network while ensuring strong risk, control and stability standards, driving monitoring improvements, and collaborating with QA on test automation and with DevOps on SDLC and environment management.

Requirements

  • Excellent Java and/or Kotlin knowledge including Spring framework and concurrency.
  • Significant prior experience in Core Java, Database Technologies (e.g. SQL, Hibernate, NoSQL), micro-service architectures.
  • Practical experience with build tools (e.g. Maven, Gradle), version control (e.g. Git) and continuous integration systems (e.g GH Actions, Jenkins).
  • Good experience in any or all of these is a plus: building cloud based, distributed, highly available and fault tolerant applications; building large scale and highly available (REST) API's in Java. Google cloud would be a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English; German language knowledge would be a plus
