Head of Data Centre Development

Head of Procurement - UK & Europe Renewables Leap29 are recruiting for a Strategic and commercially driven Head of Procurement with 13+ years of experience delivering renewable energy infrastructure projects across the UK and European markets, including BESS, Solar PV, and Onshore/Offshore Wind. Extensive expertise in EPC contracting, global strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations. Proven ability to lead procurement functions that enable large-scale energy projects from development through financial close and construction. Key Responsibilities Define and execute procurement strategy across UK and European BESS, Solar PV, and Wind portfolios, aligned with corporate growth and investment objectives. Establish scalable procurement governance frameworks to support multi-country development and construction programmes. Lead category strategies covering wind turbines, PV modules, inverters, BESS systems, transformers, substations, balance-of-plant, and civil/EPC packages. EPC Contracting & Commercial Management Structure, negotiate, and execute EPC and multi-contracting strategies across solar, wind, and BESS projects throughout the UK and Europe. Develop contracting models (EPC, EPCM, multi-lot, framework agreements) aligned with regional regulatory requirements and project risk profiles. Negotiate key commercial terms including performance guarantees, availability warranties, liquidated damages, delay damages, and grid compliance provisions. Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management Lead pan-European sourcing initiatives with OEMs, integrators, and tier-one contractors across renewable supply chains. Conduct supplier due diligence and financial capability assessments to ensure execution certainty and bankability. Drive competitive tendering processes (RFP/RFQ), supplier benchmarking, and total cost of ownership optimisation. Project Management Experience Prior hands-on experience managing renewable energy project delivery across development and construction phases in multiple European markets. Oversee procurement schedules aligned with permitting, grid connection, financing, and construction milestones. Manage budgets, risk registers, and cross-border stakeholder coordination to ensure on-time and on-budget execution. Team Leadership & Organisational Development Build and lead high-performing procurement teams operating across UK and European regions. Foster collaboration between engineering, development, finance, and construction functions. Drive continuous improvement in procurement systems, reporting, and governance processes.
