Job description

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Network Communications Architect to join a well-known Technology, Rail / Infrastructure business and assist in the generation, production and test regimes in addition to the implementation of testing and validation activity.

Your role as Network Communications Architect will give you the opportunity to be responsible for the cost, time and the quality performance of allocated project activities, * Leading the design and development of end-to-end network architectures (LAN/WAN)

  • Producing high-level and detailed network designs, diagrams, and IP addressing schemes
  • Supporting configuration, integration, and testing (FAT, onsite, and system testing)
  • Ensuring quality, safety, and compliance across all project deliverables
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects on time and within budget
  • Developing architecture and function design specifications
  • Creating cable schematics and resilience/diversity plans
  • Supporting network configuration and implementation
  • Driving testing, validation, and system integration activities

Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Strong background in network communications systems (LAN/WAN, security)
  • Experience working within structured engineering lifecycles
  • Cisco certification (CCNA or higher) with hands-on expertise
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Chartered Engineer or IRSE Licence
  • Experience in railway telecoms or safety-critical industries
  • Knowledge of SDN, virtualisation, data centres, or automation
