Job description

We're looking for a Lead Software Developer-or a seasoned Senior Developer ready to take the next step-who can drive technical excellence across game projects built with our in-house engine. You'll lead a team of developers, guide the implementation of key features, and collaborate with leads from other disciplines to ensure smooth project delivery. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll help shape both the technology and the people behind it., * Lead a team of Software Developers working on a project using the in-house engine.

  • Collaborate closely with engine and project teams throughout development.
  • Direct the technical design and implementation of game features across multiple systems.
  • Work with production and discipline leads to plan delivery and ensure quality.
  • Develop and refine workflows, tools, and standards to support scalability and maintainability.
  • Mentor and support the professional growth of team members.
  • Stay current with research and technological advances to drive innovation and efficiency.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of professional experience as a Software Developer/Engineer in the games industry, including at least 2 years in a senior role.
  • Strong C++ programming skills and familiarity with Visual Studio.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a collaborative, creative environment.
  • Excellent communication and technical documentation skills.
  • Eligible to work in the United Kingdom.
  • Willingness to work onsite in Dundee or East Linton, Scotland.

Bonus Skills:

  • 2+ years of experience as a Lead Developer/Engineer in the games industry.
  • Experience with multi-platform titles or direct platform SDK integration.
  • Shipped titles on consoles.
  • Experience writing efficient, optimized code for modern hardware.
  • Background in networked or multiplayer game development.
