Job description
- You will collaborate with our backend teams building our native application, helping product teams work faster, more efficiently and in high quality.
- Coordinate and collaborate with the Product and Engineering team to identify problems, come up with creative solutions, and help with tracking and delivering within the release plan.
- Translate requirements to software design and create clean, efficient, extensible, maintainable crash-free code that is aligned with native platform guidelines
- You will be following agile practices and focus on continual improvement in our practices, driven from the ground up. We expect you to advocate for improvements in code and culture, and to support your colleagues in the same.
- Partner and collaborate with other organizations throughout eBay.
- As part of the team, you'll also share your knowledge with the wider team as well as learning about and contributing to our core app experience.
- Lead and improve E2E testing quality and increase delivery velocity across features
- Understand and implement Android specific design patterns and experience with Android Studio, Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Dagger, network debugging (e.g. Charles), revision control systems (e.g. Git) and issue tracking (e.g. Jira)
Requirements
Do you have experience in UI?, * 8+ years of experience designing, building, refactoring, and releasing native applications.
- Innovative, team player, excellent communication and decision-making
- Strong sense of ownership and interpersonal skills to work effectively across teams
- Deep expertise in Kotlin, Jetpack Compose and Dagger. GraphQL is a plus.
- Proven ability to maintain high-quality code and resiliency through techniques such as testing, pairing, and code reviews.
- Expertise in unit and functional UI testing, utilizing tools like JUnit and Espresso, and a strong understanding of SOLID principles.
- Experience with modern design patterns such as MVVM, Dependency Injection, etc.
- Working knowledge of modern Android APIs, concurrency/threading, layouts, transitions, animations, client-side persistence, and architectural patterns for mobile apps.
- Experience in Agile/Scrum methodologies and working in Agile teams is desirable
- Able to own a feature of an Android application and develop it fully.

The Regional Development team is based in Dreilinden (Berlin) and is part of the Global Technology organisation. We enable commerce at scale and have massive customer impact. Whilst doing all this, we are on a mission to improve eBay technology, drive agile adoption and demonstrate customer-centric development.
