Power BI Data Engineer - Reporting & Analytics Project

Location: Remote (UK) Rate: £450 - £500 per day (Outside IR35) Contract: 3 months initially, with strong potential to extend

iO Associates are partnered with a rapidly growing data consultancy on an exciting project to modernise enterprise reporting and analytics platforms using Power BI and Azure Data services. You'll be at the forefront of shaping the client's next-generation analytics environment, turning complex data into actionable insights and enabling smarter business decisions. This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role, perfect for someone passionate about Power BI, analytics, and modern data platforms The Role

  • Lead the development, optimisation, and migration of Power BI reports, dashboards, and data models
  • Build and enhance ETL pipelines using Python, SQL, and PySpark to support reporting workloads
  • Work across Data Factory, Data Lake, and OneLake to ensure seamless end-to-end integration for analytics solutions
  • Redesign and optimise data models to support interactive dashboards, Real Time reporting, and analytics
  • Implement data governance, quality, and performance best practices to ensure reliable and scalable reporting
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams and client stakeholders to deliver high-impact analytics solutions

Required Skills & Experience

  • 3+ years' experience as a Data Engineer or Power BI Developer in Azure environments
  • Proven experience with Power BI, including report development, data modelling, and dashboards
  • Experience with ETL pipeline development, SQL, and Python (or PySpark)
  • Familiarity with Azure Data Factory, Data Lake storage, and OneLake
  • Experience on analytics modernisation or migration projects
  • Proactive, problem-solving mindset with the ability to work independently in fast-paced delivery settings
