Job description
As a .NET Developer at you will play a crucial role in advancing our technological capabilities to support the delivery of high-quality services within Northumbria NHS Trust. Working in an Agile development team operating in sprints, you will design, develop, test, and maintain innovative software solutions built on the .NET framework deploying in to Azure., Software Development:

Design, code, and test software applications using the .NET framework, adhering to coding standards and best practices.

Provide occasional support to legacy systems ensuring uninterrupted service as the team strangle-out legacy code, replacing it with modern code

Collaborate with other developers and IT professionals to ensure seamless integration of applications and systems. System Analysis and Design:

Analyse user requirements and business needs to develop technical specifications for software solutions and design solutions accordingly

Assist with architecting scalable, reliable, and maintainable systems that align with organisational objectives. Quality Assurance:

Conduct thorough testing of your work and liaise closely with the QA team to build out test scenarios. Help identify and rectify defects, ensuring high-quality and reliable software prior to passing to the QA team.

Unit and integration testing play a key role in the implementation of functionality. Collaboration and Communication:

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, project managers, and system administrators, to understand user needs.

Communicate effectively with team members, stakeholders, and end-users to ensure clarity and transparency throughout the development lifecycle. Documentation:

Create and maintain appropriate documentation for developed software, including technical diagrams and system documentation., + To promote and facilitate innovation and continuous improvement to deliver better services for service users and patients.

Requirements
You will have experience as a .NET developer and be comfortable to analyse user requirements and business needs individually and then develop technical specifications and the resulting software solution., + Degree level or equivalent experience along with additional specialist knowledge acquired through post graduate diploma level or equivalent relevant experience
- The candidate should have a good level of knowledge around all aspects of .NET development and the wider software development lifecycle, underpinned by theory and professional experience.
- The candidate should be capable of analysing existing system with the ability to produce technical architecture and data system specifications.
- Proven experience of software development in a formal development environment
- Experience of C# .NET
- Experience developing RESTful APIs.
- Demonstratable experience of writing unit tests
- Experience working with relational data stores (SQL/NoSQL) and knowledge of how to review/improve query performance.
- Capable of pair-programming with other members of the team.
- To lead, inspire and motivate others to high performance by agreeing clear goals and objectives, providing support and guidance and creating opportunities for development.
- To contribute to the development of a culture of high engagement, where staff are empowered and entrusted to provide the best services and care for patients.
