Job description
As a Senior System Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining our enterprise end-user computing and workplace infrastructure, with a strong focus on Citrix platforms. You will work in a Build & Run model, combining project-driven engineering with structural platform ownership. This is not a purely operational role: you will actively contribute to modernization initiatives, automation, and standardization across our environment. You will be part of our global Infrastructure Build & Run team, collaborating closely with colleagues across regions in a complex, enterprise-scale environment., * Design, implement, and maintain Citrix-based workplace solutions (CVAD / NetScaler/ related components).
- Lead and contribute to infrastructure and workplace modernization projects.
- Ensure stability, performance, and standardization of existing platforms.
- Drive automation and Infrastructure as Code initiatives to reduce manual operations.
- Implement changes in line with formal change and release management processes.
- Provide advanced 3rd line support for complex and cross-domain incidents.
- Act as a technical owner for assigned platforms and services.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, standards, and operational procedures.
- Collaborate with global teams and actively share knowledge and best practices.
- Participate in an on-call rotation with fellow senior engineers.
Technology Focus This role has a strong emphasis on Citrix, complemented by automation and Microsoft workplace technologies:
- Citrix (core expertise - required)
- NetScaler (hands-on experience - required)
- PowerShell (automation and operational tooling)
- Microsoft SCCM (strong plus)
- Windows Client & Windows Printing
- Microsoft Azure (Modern Workplace and supporting services)
Requirements
- Senior-level experience as a System Engineer or Modern Workplace Engineer.
- Deep hands-on experience with Citrix environments in enterprise setups.
- Strong background in project-based engineering, not only operational support.
- Proven experience with automation and scripting (PowerShell required).
- Experience with IaC / Terraform is an advantage.
- Comfortable working with structured change, release, and incident processes.
- Proactive, hands-on, and solution-oriented mindset.
- Able to work independently while collaborating in global teams.
- Fluent in Dutch and English (both required).
- Willing to travel occasionally for collaboration or project work.
