Job description

As a Network Engineer, you will be in charge of developing, implementing, and maintaining wireless communication and network infrastructures for unmanned systems and C5ISR components. Your role involves working with tactical communication systems, RF link integrations, software-defined radios (SDR), and high-performance networks designed to function in challenging conditions., * Design, set up, and managed IT networks (LAN/WAN/VPN, SD-WAN, Mesh networks) for advanced sensor networks and unmanned systems.

  • Develop and optimize RF communication solutions to support both short- and long-distance data transmission.
  • Integrate software-defined radios (SDR) and signal processing technologies for both military and civilian applications.
  • Perform frequency planning, spectrum analysis, and interference investigations to establish robust and secure connections.
  • Implement cybersecurity solutions to ensure secure and reliable communication.
  • Support testing, evaluation, and experimentation programs for innovative network and communication concepts.
  • Maintain documentation for system architectures and network setups., At S[&]T we contribute to a safer life on earth by translating space data into valuable and actionable insights. We oversee data from instruments to application, and apply our expertise within our software frameworks, information products and consultancy.

Our society relies on space and scientific instruments for climate change monitoring, navigation, defence and national security, and other crucial services we all use in our daily lives. These instruments produce an enormous quantity of complex data, and our goal is to unlock its value.

We have more than 20 years of experience working on instrument calibration, the creation of data quality monitoring tools, the development of real-time data processing frameworks, and the development of application-specific algorithms. With this, we help organisations, governments and industries to strengthen their information position and thereby improve their decision making. We focus on the following domains: Space & Science, Defence & Security, Environment & Sustainability, and High-Tech Consulting.

  • At least 3-5 years of experience in IT networking and/or RF communications.
  • Proficiency in network technologies such as Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, Ubiquiti, SD-WAN, VPN, VLAN, and QoS.
  • Experience with RF systems and radio frequency technologies (VHF/UHF, SDR, LTE, SATCOM-basic understanding).
  • Knowledge of network security and encryption solutions.
  • Practical experience with Wireshark, SDR software, spectrum analyzers, and RF testing tools; familiarity with MATLAB is a plus.
