Job description
You're the kind of engineer who sees a tangled codebase and thinks "I can fix that" - not "that's not my problem." You thrive when the stakes are high, the pace is quick, and the work genuinely matters.
You don't just write code; you craft solutions. You care about the humans on the other end of every feature - the nurse checking scan results at 7am, the patient anxiously refreshing their app. Great design and snappy UX aren't nice-to-haves for you; they're non-negotiables.
Autonomy energises you. You set your own timelines, own your deliverables, and keep the team in the loop without being asked. You fail fast, learn faster, and never make the same mistake twice (well… almost never ).
️ What You'll Do
This is a role for builders who want to make a direct impact. We're creating a complete operating system for fertility clinics - from managing follicle scans to processing payments. It's a rare chance to reinvent healthcare workflows for an entire sector.
- Build and ship features end-to-end in a modern Rails 8 stack with Hotwire, Phlex, and Tailwind.
- Solve genuinely complex problems daily - healthcare data, real-time scheduling, multi-country compliance.
- Collaborate with designers and clinicians to deliver interfaces that are fast, intuitive, and beautiful.
- Take ownership of your domain: you're not waiting for a ticket - you're spotting the opportunity and running with it.
- Shape the architecture and engineering culture of a product used by clinics across 14+ countries., Join the founding crew. Help set the standards, culture, and direction of the company for years to come.
Hybrid & Flexible
3 days a week at our Paddington office with flexibility built in. We trust you to do great work wherever you are.
Why wawa?
Because we've already found strong product-market fit. Because clinics in 14+ countries rely on us every day. Because our platform handles everything from embryology records to patient payments - and we're just getting started.
Because we're a small team doing enormous things. Because you'll never wonder whether your work matters here. And because "helping millions of families start" is the kind of purpose that makes Monday mornings feel different.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Ruby on Rails?, * A deep appreciation of The Rails Way, with the chops to build elegant, scalable solutions.

- Transparent and intellectually honest communication - you say what you mean and mean what you say.
- A hunger for high-tempo environments where speed and quality are balanced through individual responsibility.
- An eye for great design and a drive to create experiences as beautiful as they are functional.
- A willingness to fail fast and learn faster… two-way doors are your favourite kind of doors.
