OpenShift Infrastructure Engineer - Kubernetes & Data Protection Specialist (NetBackup/Commvault) - 2-Year Programme - Remote - £450/£500 PAYE (No Umbrella fees or Employers NI reductions) This will suit a solid OpenShift/Kubernetes infrastructure engineer who has moved into cloud native 'data protection' or a NetBackup/Commvault specialist that has evolved into OpenShift/Kubernetes platforms. We're looking for a hands-on OpenShift Engineer with deep Kubernetes infrastructure expertise and strong enterprise backup experience to join a large-scale transformation. This is not a generic DevOps role as you'll be leading cloud-native data protection strategy across OpenShift clusters - protecting container workloads and OpenShift Virtualization VMs using Veritas NetBackup and Commvault. Requirements
To apply you should have the following skills and experience:
- 6-10+ years infrastructure background
- Strong hands-on experience with Red Hat OpenShift (OCP)
- Proven administration of NetBackup (10.x ideally) in Kubernetes environments OR strong Commvault Kubernetes protection experience
- Deep understanding of:
- Kubernetes operators
- CSI/PV/PVC life cycle
- Cluster-level RBAC
- Virtual machine protection in OpenShift (KubeVirt/OpenShift Virtualization)
- RHEL + Scripting (Python/Shell)
Nice to haves:
- OADP/Velero experience
- NetBackup Flex Appliances
- Experience in highly regulated enterprise environments
