- British citizenship is required for this role, due to security restrictions
- Proven experience with enterprise firewall platforms such as Cisco, Palo Alto, or Checkpoint.
- Comprehensive understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, and VLAN architectures., * Manage and optimize high-availability firewall and proxy environments to ensure robust perimeter protection.
- Lead the technical response to security incidents by performing deep-packet analysis and traffic interrogation.
- Collaborate with internal security teams to design and implement secure network segmentation and SSL decryption policies.
- Maintain the integrity of security appliances through proactive lifecycle management and complex troubleshooting.
- Provide technical subject matter expertise during out-of-hours response windows to mitigate emerging threats.
Requirements
- Strong technical background in network engineering with a focus on security hardware.
- Hands-on experience configuring and managing Next-Generation Firewalls and secure web gateways.
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools such as PRTG or Nagios for maintaining estate visibility.
- Ability to analyse complex traffic flows to distinguish between administrative actions and potential threats.
- Clear communication skills for reporting technical risks to both engineering and leadership teams.
