Salary £32,061 - £36,363 per annum| 37 hours per week | Fixed term, Full time | Digital Services | Preston Are you a tech graduate who wants their work to matter? The Opportunity As a Graduate Integration Engineer, you'll join our Integration team within Digital Services, where you'll help design, build and support the digital connections that power vital council services. This is a hands-on role where you'll:
- Work with modern cloud integration technologies like Azure API Management and Logic Apps
- Help create secure, scalable data flows between systems
- Learn how enterprise data platforms really work - from APIs to databases to automation
- Be supported by experienced engineers, mentors and structured training
You'll play a key role in modernising how we use data - improving services, enabling better decision-making, and supporting innovation across the council. What You'll Be Doing No two days will be the same, but you'll be involved in things like:
- Supporting the development of integration solutions using industry-standard tools
- Writing SQL queries, views and stored procedures to transform and move data
- Building and maintaining data pipelines and ETL processes
- Combining data from APIs, databases and external sources into unified datasets
- Automating data processes using scripts and code
- Working closely with data engineers, analysts and service teams to understand real business needs
- Helping ensure data quality, integrity and security across systems
Requirements
This is a graduate / early-career role, so we're more interested in your potential than ticking every box. You might be:
- A graduate in Computer Science, IT, Data, or a related subject
- Or someone with relevant technical training or practical experience
- Experienced in using APIs, cloud platforms, databases and data integration
- Comfortable working with SQL and keen to deepen your skills
