Job description

Laing O'Rourke are looking for a GPD Constructability Manager to lead the development and integration of civil construction methodologies across multidisciplinary teams, ensuring constructability, safety, and efficiency. You will champion MMC, DfMA, and digital construction to align design and delivery, driving build certainty and programme performance., * Lead the Civil Methods Team, aligning with project strategy and objectives

  • Embed MMC, DfMA, and modular construction across all civil activities
  • Oversee constructability reviews, value engineering, and interface coordination
  • Integrate construction methodologies into design through early engagement
  • Support resolution of complex technical and method-related challenges
  • Coordinate with planning, estimating, logistics, and supply chain teams

CONSTRUCTION STRATEGY & ASSURANCE

  • Define and approve construction methodologies, sequencing, and temporary works
  • Monitor critical path activities and mitigate construction risks
  • Drive digital construction adoption (BIM, 4D sequencing)
  • Ensure compliance with H&S (CDM), quality, and sustainability standards
  • Set and maintain governance for method statements and risk assessments
  • Ensure quality and timely delivery of all civil methods outputs

Stakeholder & Risk Management

  • Build strong relationships across project teams, partners, and regulators
  • Influence design and delivery decisions to embed constructability
  • Lead identification and mitigation of construction risks and constraints
  • Champion innovative, safe, and cost-effective delivery solutions

Requirements

Do you have experience in IT?, * Degree in Civil Engineering (or similar)

  • 10+ years' experience in construction or technical delivery, ideally infrastructure
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, MMC, and DfMA
  • Experience working with contractors, consultants, and delivery partners
  • Strong communication and technical reporting skills
  • Chartership (e.g. ICE, CIOB) desirable
  • Experience in regulated environments (e.g. nuclear) advantageous
