Job description

The BPA Implementation Analyst role is a key position within the BPA Operations team, contributing to Royal London's growth in the annuities sector. This role involves performing activities associated with the implementation of Bulk Purchase Annuity (BPA) business, covering a range of one-off and ongoing activities from implementation through buy-in and transition to buy-out. The key areas of responsibility include:

  • Pre-execution data and operational complexity due diligence
  • Scheme onboarding
  • Scheme trustee and administrator management
  • Shadow administration (including buy-in payroll, member option validation, and movement processing)
  • Data flow and control
  • Data cleanse and true-up
  • Transition to buy-out (including policyholder communication and admin and payroll transition)
  • Ongoing reporting (including production and review of management information and valuation extracts)

Requirements

We are looking for candidates with the following skills, experience, and qualifications:

  • General understanding of defined benefit pensions or willingness to learn
  • Experience with reviewing contracts and extracting relevant information
  • Appreciation of operational challenges from data migration and ongoing management
  • Experience working with spreadsheet models
  • Comfortable completing calculations using proforma spreadsheets and self-reviewing outputs
  • Desire to undertake professional training
  • Financial background or numerically literate
  • Experience managing senior stakeholders and working towards deadline
