Cloud Security Consultant
Job Description
We are supporting our Edinburgh based client with 2 new Cloud Security Consultant contract positions. You will be working in the core Cloud Security platform team to support in hardening their cloud security services. This role will be an initial 6 month contract with a few days per month spent in the Edinburgh office. In addition, this role will be INSIDE IR35.
Responsibilities
- Review existing cloud security guardrails and controls across AWS, GCP, and Azure.
- Identify gaps, weaknesses, and opportunities for improvement in cloud security posture.
- Engage with engineering, architecture, and security teams to understand context and validate findings.
- Communicate technical issues and recommended solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Produce clear documentation outlining findings, risks, options, and recommendations.
Essential Skills
- Proven experience with security controls in large-scale AWS, GCP, and Azure environments.
- Deep understanding of cloud security principles and cloud-native security tooling.
- experience improving technical governance processes, including exceptions and approvals.
- Demonstrated engineering-oriented approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to explain technical risks and recommendations in simple, practical terms.
- Strong communication and stakeholder-engagement skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications (Non-Essential)
- CCSK certification.
- CISSP certification.
