Senior Storage Engineer with hands-on experience of administering and supporting, NetApp storage systems and NetApp ONTAP, is needed to support our higher education client., You will take ownership of the administration, optimisation and ongoing support of enterprise storage and backup infrastructure, with a particular focus on Storage (NetApp) and Backup & Disaster Recovery. Senior Storage Engineer- NetApp-Higher Education- Essential Experience
- Hands-on experience administering and supporting NetApp storage systems and NetApp ONTAP (Clustered ONTAP)
- Strong knowledge of aggregates, volumes, LUNs, qtrees, NFS, CIFS/SMB, storage virtual machines (SVMs), snapshots and snapMirror.
- Experience of designing and support enterprise storage solutions, capacity planning and performance tuning.
- Experience of working with High availability (HA pairs, clustering)
- Knowledge of Firmware and ONTAP upgrades
- Experience of storage migrations and data lifecycle management.
- Strong understanding of backup fundamentals (backup strategies (full, incremental), RPO (Recovery Point Objective) and RTO (Recovery Time Objective)
- Knowledge of disaster recovery principles, data integrity validation and restore testing.
- Experience with enterprise-grade backup solutions (Cohesity/Rubrik (administration, configuration, troubleshooting)
- Experience of backing up and restoring enterprise databases
- Experience of protecting VM based infrastructure
- Understanding of image-level backups and application-consistent snapshots 6 months contract with scope to extend
