Technical Developer

We are hiring on behalf of our customer for an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team as aTechnical Product Development - Senior Specialist . This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in automotive regulations and systems engineering, looking to make a significant impact on vehicle compliance and development.Location: Midlands, UKContract Type: 12-Month Initial ContractKey ResponsibilitiesMonitor, interpret, and assess the impact of global automotive regulations (e.g., UNECE, FMVSS, GSR, ISO) on vehicle features and systems.Translate regulatory texts into clear, actionable engineering requirements.Maintain ownership of these requirements throughout the product lifecycle, ensuring traceability and compliance.Act as the primary liaison between regulatory bodies, legal teams, and engineering functions.Ensure consistent understanding and implementation of regulatory requirements across all stakeholders.Support programme teams in planning for regulatory compliance, including feature delivery timelines, validation strategies, and documentation.Track regulatory changes and assess their impact on existing and future vehicle programmes.Lead updates to requirements and communicate changes effectively.Collaborate with systems engineers to ensure regulatory requirements are integrated into system architectures and validation plans.Prepare and maintain documentation required for certification and homologation activities.Required Skills & ExperienceStrong experience in interpreting and applying automotive regulations in an engineering context.Proven track record in writing and managing technical requirements.Experience working with regulatory frameworks (e.g. EU, UNECE, FMVSS, ISO standards).Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.Experience with requirements management tools (e.g. Dassault TRM, IBM DOORS).Understanding of systems engineering principles and V-model development processes., Experience in vehicle homologation or certification, A technology consulting firm based in Greater London is looking for candidates with a strong architecture and service delivery background.
