Job description
As a mid level Mobile Application Developer, you will support in the design and development of mobile applications aimed at a variety of user types to complement Axscend's suite of products and services. You will be expected to write clear, testable, extensible software and create supporting documentation allowing others to work with your solutions easily.
In this role, as well as working as part of a team to deliver the overall solution, you will be expected to be able to work independently on problems, applying your experience to make sound technical decisions and drive solutions to completion. You will proactively support colleagues, contribute to code reviews, and share knowledge to help the team work effectively.
You will collaborate closely with our web and embedded development teams to deliver integrated solutions and will be comfortable representing technical decisions to stakeholders and cross-functional partners. Strong communication and ownership are key to success in this role.
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
- 2+ years of professional experience developing mobile applications for iOS and Android using Flutter
- Strong command of Dart and object-oriented design principles
- Proven experience designing, building, and consuming REST APIs
- Solid understanding of state management approaches in Flutter (e.g. Bloc)
- Experience writing automated tests at the unit, widget, and integration level
- Proficient with Git and collaborative branching workflows
- Strong problem-solving ability with a track record of owning issues through to resolution
- Effective communicator - able to articulate technical decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences

- 25 days holiday per Annum plus Bank holidays
- Home based with attendance at our Runcorn office required for on-boarding, and for up to 2 days every 8 weeks for team building and project planning. You may also be required to attend devices on-site (either at a SAF group office or a customer site) where appropriate for fault-finding that cannot be performed remotely.
