Job description
We're looking for a hands-on VMware Engineer to support a focused security remediation programme across a complex enterprise estate.
This is a delivery-focused role - not BAU support. The objective is to identify, remediate, and reduce vulnerability exposure across a VMware platform spanning both Linux and Windows environments. What you'll be doing:
- Validating and triaging vulnerability scan results (Tenable/Qualys/etc.)
- Remediating vulnerabilities across VMware ESXi, vCenter, Linux and Windows systems
- Executing patching, upgrades, and security hardening
- Applying fixes via command line/Scripting (Linux & Windows)
- Reducing risk exposure within defined SLA windows
- Working across infrastructure, security, and application teams to drive remediation
Requirements
- Strong hands-on VMware (vSphere/ESXi/vCenter) experience
- Proven experience remediating vulnerabilities across both Linux and Windows environments
- Ability to execute remediation via CLI (bash/PowerShell)
- Experience working with CVE data and vulnerability scanning tools (eg Tenable, Nessus, Qualys)
- Strong understanding of platform hardening and security best practice
- Comfortable owning delivery and working in fast-paced environments
