Desktop Support Engineer

We're working with a well-established organisation looking for a Desktop Support Engineer to join their team on a 12-month fixed term contract.

This is a great opportunity for someone with strong end-user support experience to join a collaborative IT function, supporting a modern Microsoft-based environment.

The Role

You'll be the first point of contact for IT support, helping resolve user issues, maintaining systems, and ensuring colleagues can work efficiently day-to-day.

This is a hands-on role where you'll gain exposure to a wide range of technologies while working closely with infrastructure and cloud teams

Key Responsibilities

• Provide 1st line support for users, managing incidents and service requests
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues, escalating where necessary
• Support laptop and mobile deployments using Microsoft Intune
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access
• Support Microsoft 365 tools including Teams and SharePoint
• Assist with system upgrades, patching, and maintenance
• Monitor systems and help identify potential issues
• Support backups, restores, and basic security processes
• Work with third-party suppliers when required

Essential:

• Experience in a 1st line / end-user support role
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365
• Experience with:
• Windows 11
• Microsoft Intune
• Entra ID / Active Directory
• Basic networking (DNS, DHCP, VPNs)
