Operate within the Enterprise Data Architecture Framework, defining, extending, managing and benchmarking projects against leading practices, models (logical, physical, semantic), standards, frameworks and the overall Blueprint for each initiative.

Support the Head/Lead of Information Architecture Commercial in developing strategy and best practice for Information Architecture, contributing to the wider Enterprise Data Strategy in partnership with business functions, solution development teams and functional projects.

Develop and deliver education on architecture, leading practices and technology to raise capability across teams.

Drive Architectural Governance across architectural disciplines, including developing Architectural Decisions and progressing work through governance and assurance forums, boards and councils.

Deliver and manage Information Architecture (IA) for Commercial IT, including conceptual and logical models for operational, master and data products, covering data models, information flows, master/reference data and metadata designs to meet Business Capability requirements.

Collaborate with business leaders to evolve IA designs that support and anticipate business strategy.

Own IA designs for one or more Business Capability areas and take accountability for IA across projects or programmes impacting those capabilities within Commercial IT.

Assure IT change projects are aligned to IA by delivering IA blueprint artefacts or assessing designs from Data Modellers and Solution Architects assigned to the project.

Partner with the Commercial Data Office to embed data governance processes in all IA designs and provide assurance evidence through standardised metrics such as master data consumption and data classification metadata application.

Select or define appropriate architectures and patterns to support traditional reporting (management information, business intelligence), analytics, data science, digital and operational business use cases.

Provide both strategic and tactical data architecture planning, design expertise and execution support on development projects, from technical designs and technology standards to models and IA considerations.

Contribute coherent architectural thinking in support of data strategies, enterprise data and information architectures.

Support the development of Data Integration architecture and overall Data Integration design for projects.

Secure approval for IA artefacts and ensure enforcement of standard enterprise data element names, abbreviations, characteristics and domains throughout the project lifecycle.
