Job description
This is an exciting opportunity to join the internal Data and Analytics team within the Group Systems corporate IT function. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will lead the design and build of our business-critical Data and Analytics systems, helping us unlock predictive insights for strategic decision-making., * Lead small technical project teams to deliver solutions aligned with the business requirements
- Develop and deliver business change, alongside internal comms and handover to teams to ensure successful adoption
- Engage with senior stakeholders to understand high-level business goals and transform these into detailed functional and non-functional requirements
- Provide support and expertise to Identify and fix live issues
Hybrid working - our approach is to be in the office or on client site a minimum of 2 days per week.
Requirements
We are seeking a proactive, highly skilled Data Engineer to deliver modern data solutions to solve complex business problems. You'll have deep expertise in Microsoft Fabric and Microsoft Database technologies and use your knowledge to translate business requirements into technical solutions., * Holds or eligible for UK Security Clearance (L2 - SC)
- Data Engineering & Fabric Development - Design and implement ETL/ELT data pipelines
- SQL Server - Develop, optimize and manage complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions using
- Tabular model development / DAX - create Power BI semantic models / Analysis Services including row-level security (RLS) and object-level security (OLS).
- Proven history of delivery and support of key financial and operational/management analytics.
Desirable Technical Skills
- Governance & Compliance - Microsoft Purview
- Building forecasting and predictive analytics - Azure Machine Learning
- Microsoft Certified: Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate, Azure Data Engineer Associate, Power BI Data Analyst Associate, SQL Server Database Administrator/Developer, All PA people are required to undergo background checks and to achieve the Baseline Personnel Security Standard however, some UK roles also require higher levels of National Security Vetting, where applicants must have at least 5 years of continuous residency in the UK.
