Job description
We're looking for a Career Graded Systems Engineer 1st Line with a strong interest in Networks to join our IT team. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your networking skills while gaining exposure to a broad and modern IT estate, including infrastructure, security, servers and data.
About the role
As a key member of our IT support function, you'll be one of the first points of contact for technical queries and incidents. While the role provides broad firstline support, this position has a clear emphasis on networking, offering handson involvement with LAN/WAN infrastructure, network devices and network related projects.
You'll work closely with experienced 2nd and 3rd line engineers, learning on the job and building the foundations for progression within Networks and wider infrastructure roles.
What you'll be doing

Providing first line IT support to internal users via phone, email and ticketing systems

Diagnosing and resolving network related issues, escalating where appropriate

Assisting with the setup, configuration and troubleshooting of LAN and WAN infrastructure

Carrying out daily network checks, patching and compliance activities

Supporting network projects, including site visits and device testing

Maintaining accurate system records, documentation and knowledge articles

Contributing to continuous service improvement across the IT function

Supporting general IT activities such as asset management, onboarding and device setup
